Projects

Chalo school chalien(Let us go to school)
A school enrolment drive carried out in the villages of Uttar Pradesh

Mewat ki Mushkilein (Problems of Mewat)
SMART carried out a survey in the district to understand the problems, the reasons for backwardness and possibilities of projects for the women and children that could impact their lives positively

Let’s build a new world for ourselves
SMART is providing education to children in the age group of 5-9 years of age, under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan of the Government of India. Learning has been made interesting by using different tools to impart education

We can do it
A vocational training and education program for the girls in the age group of 10-14 years, who had never gone to school. Providing both education and a skill that can ensure economic gains has been an empowering experience for the adolescents

Taking on the Challenge
The purpose of the project is to create a skilled labor force to meet the demands of the emerging new industries and industrial townships. Our idea is to provide a strong labor force that will support the trained professionals in their jobs

Skills that last you life long
Like in the entire rural India, in Mewat too, girls are married off at the age of 14 to 16 years. The program imparts training to build confidence, increase access to information, and improve negotiation skills and decision making power

Connecting women and children for hope
In the Tsunami affected/devastated coastal villages of Tamil Nadu women have been deprived of health care, education, employment and have been subjected to gender discrimination and violence. We looked beyond relief and provided sustainable development, equality and empowerment through various interventions.

Women Swimming into the future
Under this unique project women in the Tsunami hit-region of Tamil Nadu were trained to swim.

Take your future into your own hands
Economic empowerment by building on the capacities of the women is the only way to overcome the structures of poverty and discrimination. The program adopting the micro finance model provided skills and set up business es for the women of the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu

Health is Priority
SMART spread awareness amongst the people of Mewat towards health and healthy habits. Awareness of TB and DOT providers was an integral part of this programme

Door to Door
To understand the education and employment profile of Mewat a door to door survey was conducted in 80,000 household of Mewat. A door to door survey conducted with the help of the youth gave new insights into the status of Mewat

Connect to Care
Most of the construction labor all over India comes from a district in Jharkhand, Dumka. The laborers travel to the east and north of India and work as casual paid labors in government and non government organisations. A study is being conducted in order to know the families of the laborers and develop need based programmes that ensure a better future for them when the men go to work
